The Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition is a preliminary to the iconic Miss America Competition. Held each year in York, Pennsylvania, young women throughout the Commonwealth compete for thousands of dollars in scholarships and the chance of a lifetime to compete for the title of Miss America.
Miss America was the first competition to offer a talent category and soon-after scholarship awards for young women to go to college to further their education. The Miss America Organization stands for empowering young women across the country to be the best they can be through leadership, talent, communication skills, and education.
The organization is one of the single largest providers of scholarship to young women in the world.
In order to part of this dynamic program, candidates must first win a local competition to be eligible for Miss Pennsylvania. There are more than a dozen local programs in the Keystone State, which can be viewed here.
